About Me

If you want to learn more about me, you’re in the right place. I’m a nurse and mom of two beautiful children.

Nurse - RGN (BSc), PHN (HD), currently training to become an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)

I have had a diverse working career, from children to the elderly and a lot between. For the last ten years, my work as a public health nurse has involved working with new moms helping and supporting them to care for their babies. It is also my role to identify any problems or concerns they have during the postpartum period. I also carry out developmental checks for infants, toddlers, and young children along with promoting a healthy lifestyle. I love kids and love to see their development as they turn into little people with their own personality. I have a particular interest in breastfeeding and I am currently studying to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

The thing I'm most appreciative of is becoming a mom. I feel very lucky that I have two beautiful children, that are my everything. My youngest is 10 months, and my toddler is 26 months. Being a new mom has taught me things about parenting that my job could never have done! I definitely feel I'm learning something new every day on my journey being a parent.

Building a community

With my time working as a nurse and the parent of two young children, I love the idea of being able to share my experiences and knowledge with other parents. Of course, no one ever stops learning in life, and I hope to make this an interactive site where I can communicate with other moms, dads and anyone else with an interest in the care and wellbeing of children and parenting the best way we can.
